Jews and Jazz: Improvising Ethnicity is the book by political science Prof. Charles Hersch. Far from a simple catalog of Jewish involvement, Hersch discusses the reasons that Jews were attracted to jazz, and how those reasons changed as Jews became more assimilated in the USA.
